Here I am.

I've always wanted a blog. Not because I need any validation from unknown internet denizens,I just wanted someplace to put my thoughts down,no matter how inane or boring. Writing was something that I enoyed when I was younger and fancied myself as being artistic and creative.

So, I guess the best way to get to know someone is that I should introduce myself, so here it goes:

Current Long Term Goal: Completing my bachelor's in business
Passions: My family, church, community & learning
Hobbies: Movies, Scrapbooking, Reading
Bad habits: Sweets and hopelessly addicted to FaceBook

Yeah, it's not the big and exciting life I was expecting 20 years ago. I didn't become a buyer for Sak's or Macy's. I didn't become a pulitzer novelist. I'm happy with that. Not all of us are destined for the type of greatness that makes a lot of people sit up and take notice. The talents we have been given sometimes mean making those in our lives feel loved and providing for them so they are happy.

Teaching my children how to be independent and productive members of society is very important to me. By no means do I want my kids to be conformist automatons, but I want them to find their voice and do their best. If it means they walk a little left of the crowd, so be it. Sometimes the harder path is more rewarding.
